It was Luke's spring break two weeks ago and so we decided to do a "staycation" instead of going away. Living in the bay area provides us with plenty of things to do and everything is less than an hour away. It was fun to decide the morning of what we wanted to do that day. Uncle Ryan was here for Easter break so it was nice to have him around since JR couldn't take off the whole week. Here is a recap of what we did all week and of course I down-loaded all of my pictures backwards so just pretend they go together.
Monday we just hung out in the morning and then went to the 3D movie Monsters vs. Aliens. Tuesday we did the Exploratorium. Then on Wednesday we went to the Oakland A's vs. the Boston Red Socks game. That was really fun and we lucked out on great seats! Oh, and it was dollar day so the hot dogs were only a buck and we got a ton! On Thursday we went to the Oakland temple and enjoyed the beautiful gardens and other happenings there. Then we dropped off Uncle Ryan at the airport and went and visited some of our friends for dinner. On Friday we decided to go down to Santa Cruz and enjoy the beach. Even though it is only an hour away, we still got a hotel and had a great time at the indoor pool/hot tub. The next day we spent at the beach collecting sea shells and getting some much needed "Daddy Time". One highlight was seeing a baby seal that had washed to shore right where we were. The kids thought it was the greatest thing ever until they realized it was sick and the vet came and took it away. But it was neat to see one up close. All in all, it was a great trip and the drive home was only an hour so it was just perfect for mommy.
It was really fun spending time with the kids and being lazy for awhile. I am getting excited for summer to come-only six more weeks for us. But until then, back to school and routines for now.

What a great week! I wish we lived closer to an ocean! I have been thinking of you all last week and actually had this CRAZY dream about you. I'll have to call you.
Have a wonderful day. I can't believe Caitlynn is sitting up!
Family time is always great no matter where you are. Looks like a fun week. Does Luke boogie board? Loved all the pics!
Looks like a lot of fun! That is cool your Bro came down to spend some time with you too! LOVE the beach. Warren got a boogie board for Christmas so we will see if he can actually learn how to use it. He is getting braver these days. Everyone looks great. Miss you!
Every time I read one of your posts, I think "We should do that with our kids - that sounds so fun!" You really seem like you enjoy spending fun time with your family. I like the idea of spending the night in Santa Cruz - good idea!
